Kylemore Abbey

Kylemore Abbey is a Benedictine monastery founded in 1920. The abbey was founded for Benedictine Nuns who fled Belgium in World War I. In the 1970s it was opened for public tours and walks around the gardens of the fantastic monastery. The Benedictine community has restored the Abbey’s gardens and Cathedral with donations in order to be a self-sustaining estate. Nestled deep in Connemara, this hidden gem is truly a sight to behold. Book today with Emerald Touring Ireland.
